About Nancy
Nancy Pontius is a passionate musician. She has played piano for over twenty years, and percussion for nineteen years. Teaching elementary general music in the Philadelphia area since 2009, Nancy has expanded her love of music and teaching outside of her classroom. Whether it be teaching your child piano for the first time, or playing in the pit for your high school’s musical production, Nancy is the musician to ask.
Experience
Nancy Pontius, percussionist and pianist, received her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Wellesley College, and her Master in Education in Multicultural Education from Eastern University. She has completed her Orff-Schulwerk Certification, and has taught in many school districts in the Philadelphia metro area working with students from kindergarten to twelfth grade. Through her teaching, Nancy has also taught individual and small groups of students in both piano and percussion. More
